Run in England - New Beginners Running Group at Cathy Faughey Fitness

I am very pleased to be working in partnership with a fantastic new project Run in England (www.runinengland.co.uk) to deliver a new beginners running group launching on Monday 23rd November 2009 at 7.00 pm from my new studio at 117 Trent Boulevard, West Bridgford.

I want to reassure you that this new Beginners’ Running Club is for absolutely EVERYONE who is interested in learning to run!  You really do not need to be able to run continuously for any period of time before you join us.

I will support you all the way to achieving your goals.  Each week there will be a training run plus information on nutrition, stretching, shoes, safety, cross training, what to eat, what to wear, avoiding injury, events and much more!.  Each session will also include strengthening and stabilising exercises as well as other forms or cardio exercise and group members will take home handouts on specific subjects as well as a training programme to complete between sessions.

I have coached and supported many people to take part in their first 5 km run, they then progressed to 10 km, half marathons and even marathons!

Run in England is a new initiative from England Athletics designed to make running accessible for all within communities, workplaces, schools and colleges.  Run in England aims to provide a welcoming, social environment in which people of any fitness level can participate and enhance their health & life.

I just want to reassure you that my Beginners' Running Club, known as "Start2Run" is for absolutely EVERYONE who is interested in 'starting to run'!  You really do not need to be able to run continuously for any period of time before you join us.

In my last role as a Personal Trainer for a top end Health & Fitness club, I set up and developed a Running Club for absolute beginners.  I coached and supported the club members initially to take part in the Race for Life.  They then progressed to 10 km, half marathons and even marathons!  Please see Jill Howsam's testimonial for further information and encouragement.

Start2Run club meets every Wednesday evening, 6 pm, at my studio in West Bridgford.  You are welcome to leave any belongings/valuables safely locked away whilst you are out running.

The hour does not comprise running (or jogging ... or walking) solely from A-to-B but includes leg strengthening and stabilising exercises, as well as other forms of cardio exercise designed to improve your running fitness more than just running continuously can achieve.  This is based on the latest exercise science research.  Please refer to Nick Pymm's testimonial for proven results of the latest scientific training techniques.
